Discussions were held with various agencies of the Central Govt. engaged in the leather industry to create & uplift the markets for leather goods which aims to the development, promotion & encouragement of the leather sector in Maharashtra , along with the development of technology in the leather industry. It was agreed upon with the ‘Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai ’ to conduct a comprehensive survey of the leather industry in Maharashtra & to appoint a study group to decide on establishment of Leather cluster & recommend adoption of training & other good policies from other states in Maharashtra.

Along with this, action will be taken with the organizations like Council for Leather Export, Central Footwear Training Institute, Leather sector Skill Council etc. to start the training & design centers on various subjects. Hon. Managing Director LIDCOM will soon start working on all these proposals & it is hoped that LIDCOM’s effort to uplift Charmakar community at large in the 50th Golden Jubilee Year of the corporation will be successful.
